San
Telmo
One
of the oldest neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, to the south
of Plaza de Mayo. It still preserves streets with cobbles
stones and many colonial houses, some of which were declared
historical patrimony of the city. |
|
You might say that the neuralgic center of San
Telmo is Plaza Dorrego. This square is about ten blocks away from
Plaza de Mayo, at the corner of Humberto Primo and Defensa. It
is bordered by coffe shops and several antiquarians. There is
an open market of antiques that takes place every Sunday named
"Feria
de San Telmo" that is worth seeing.
 |
Many
artists and craftsmen, as well as young couples, have chosen
to live in San Telmo since they enjoy the atmosphere and
caracther of the place.
